GREENSMES

Second Study Visit and Project Meeting of the GREENSMES Project in Thessaloniki, Greece

GREENSMES continues to develop strategies for SME sustainability and green transition, with AGRRA actively contributing to the implementation and promotion of these objectives.

The Business and Cultural Development Centre (KEPA) hosted the second study visit and project meeting within the GREENSMEs project, funded by the Interreg IPA Adrion program. The event took place on February 5-6 in Thessaloniki, bringing together project partners to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaboration, and explore innovative approaches to the green transition of SMEs.

The first day featured expert presentations on green transition, innovation, bioeconomy, and waste management. Key speakers addressed challenges and opportunities for SMEs, strategies for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and examples of sustainable practices in agriculture and waste management. The study visit included stops at Thessaloniki City Hall, the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), and the American Farm School, which integrates innovation and sustainability into agricultural practices.

On the second day, the project meeting was held at KEPA’s Hellenic Design Centre, where partners reviewed project progress, planned further steps to strengthen transnational cooperation, and discussed pilot actions and the voucher system.
